چکیده

Data on Sardinella aurita (round sardinella) and Sprattus sprattus (European sprat) in the Mediterranean Sea are limited due to their scarce commercial interest, at least European countries. Yet, these two small pelagic fish, sitting opposite ends of thermal range, could be interesting sentinel species monitor effects climate change basin. Using International Acoustic Surveys (MEDIAS) – most extensive source information we analyzed biomass several geographical subareas central western relation satellite-derived environmental parameters. Our findings highlight that S. responded temperature, salinity, chlorophyll concentration sea level anomaly, depending GSA examined, whereas correlated significantly with salinity 6, 7, anomaly 17. These data widen our knowledge factors contribute ecology species. Further studies spatial distribution interactions other species, predators prey needed depict a more comprehensive scenario.

Some Biological Parameters of Sprat Sprattus Sprattus Phalericus (risso1826) in the Turkish Black Sea Coast

Some biological parameters of the sprat, Sprattus sprattus phalericus, collected from Turkish Black Sea coast between 2008 and 2009 were investigated. Sprat is an important food resource for many top predators. In present work, length frequency distribution, relationship between length and weight, sex ratio and condition factor of sprat have been studied.

Depth-dependent nutritional condition of sprat Sprattus sprattus larvae in the central Bornholm Basin, Baltic Sea

Bimodal depth distribution patterns observed for sprat Sprattus sprattus larvae in previous field studies conducted in the deep basins of the Baltic Sea have led researchers to hypothesise that larval sprat condition was depth-dependent. We examined this hypothesis by measuring morphological, biochemical and otolith-based proxies for nutritional condition in sprat larvae collected in discrete 5...

The influence of temperature on the development of Baltic Sea sprat (Sprattus sprattus) eggs and yolk sac larvae

In spring 2004 and 2005 we performed two sets of experiments with Baltic sprat (Sprattus sprattus balticus Schneider) eggs and larvae from the Bornholm Basin simulating ten different temperature scenarios. The goal of the present study was to analyse and parameterise temperature effects on the duration of developmental stages, on the timing of important ontogenetic transitions, growth during th...
